Records and continuity

Compare GLP-1 providers by records transfer and continuity support.

Use this buyer guide to compare how clinics and online programs handle medical records, lab results, refill handoffs, cancellation, and care continuity before you switch or pay.

  • Records access matters
  • Ask about handoffs
  • No refill guarantees

Trust-first comparison

We help you compare care options. We do not prescribe or sell medication.

Switching providers is a handoff, not just a new intake

A new GLP-1 clinic or telehealth program may ask for medication history, recent labs, prior authorization status, pharmacy details, side-effect history, and current clinicians. Compare how the provider collects, reviews, and returns records before you assume care will continue smoothly.

Ask what happens to your records

HHS says patients generally have rights to see and get copies of health information held by covered providers and health plans. Before paying, ask how the provider handles record requests and exports.

  • Whether you can download visit notes, lab results, medication history, invoices, and prior authorization documents.
  • How long record requests usually take and whether fees, identity checks, or special forms apply.
  • Whether records can be sent to your primary care clinician, specialist, pharmacy, or next provider.
  • What happens to portal access and message history if you cancel a membership or switch programs.

Compare continuity separately from prescribing decisions

Records transfer can support safer comparison, but it does not decide eligibility, dose changes, refills, or whether a medication is appropriate. Licensed clinicians make those decisions after reviewing your situation. Ask what the provider does if records are missing, labs are outdated, medication supply is interrupted, or a local clinician needs to be involved.

Red flags before you switch

Keep comparing if a provider will not explain record access, hides data-sharing terms, cannot say who reviews outside records, suggests refills are automatic, or makes cancellation sound like it cuts off access to your own care documents.

Common questions

Can a new GLP-1 provider continue my current prescription automatically?

No provider should promise automatic continuation. A licensed clinician needs to review your records, current health status, medication history, and clinical fit.

What records should I ask about before switching?

Ask about visit notes, lab results, medication and pharmacy history, insurance or prior authorization documents, invoices, and how records can be shared with your current or next clinician.

Does HIPAA mean every app or lead form is covered?

Not necessarily. HIPAA applies to covered entities and business associates. Ask who receives your information, whether the service is a healthcare provider, and what privacy policy applies before entering health-adjacent details.
